Juan

Juan has called Auroville home since 1995, embracing Tamil culture and the diverse landscapes of India. A true outdoor enthusiast, he is passionate about surfing, cycling, hiking, yoga, and trying out new disciplines—from tennis and rugby to surf skating and basketball.

For 17 years, Juan was part of the renowned Kallialay Surf School, one of India’s most prestigious surf schools, where he taught and interacted with travelers from around the globe. His experience extends across South India, having guided groups; like a large French delegation in 2006; through classical travel routes and hidden gems alike.

Fluent in Spanish, French, English, and conversational Tamil and Italian, Juan connects easily with people from all over the world. Known for his humor and lively spirit, he believes that every activity should be meaningful and fun.

As he often says, everything unfolds in its own time; dedication, consistency, and joy are what make the journey worthwhile.
